The Buried Alive series comes out the pandemic experience of isolation and the need to engage physically (rather than virtually or digitally) with a medium. In this case the artist makes marks on paper with burnt wooden sticks (charcoal), a process that recalls ancient cave drawings. The scale of the drawings gives them the somatic impact of sculpture.
