Looking Up

New York 2004

Looking Up is a permanent installation of four windbreaks on the Neptune Avenue platform of the New York City Subway.  The piece makes explicit reference to the Coney Island Amusement Park visible from the platform.

The 12 images act as frames in a film that is animated as the train moves by.  It was commissioned by  New York’s Metropolitan Transportation Authority’s Arts for Transit program.
